Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures that comply with federal, state/provincial, and local regulations and industry best practices.
Identify and evaluate potential health and safety hazards and risks associated with mining operations, and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
Develop and conduct training programs for employees on health and safety policies and procedures, including hazard identification, emergency response, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of mine sites, equipment, and facilities to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and identify areas for improvement.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Experience with risk management, incident investigation, and emergency response planning is required.
Experience with health and safety management systems.
